My journey into fitness and wellness has been anything but conventional. I started with a degree in psychology, motivated by a desire to understand and support others. But my own battles with depression, anxiety, and body dysmorphia made my personal life challenging. When I had my son, who was diagnosed with ASD at the age of two, the struggles intensified. Postpartum depression took a heavy toll, and I found myself overwhelmed by the demands of being a single mom, getting my son the help he needed while working two jobs and still trying to make time for myself. To cope, I turned to the gym. What began as a quest to “look better” soon evolved into a genuine passion for fitness. The routine and discipline provided me with a newfound sense of confidence and control. I pursued a master’s degree in counseling and worked as a mental health counselor, which was fulfilling in many ways. However, despite my professional achievements, I was still grappling with personal issues. I realized that my approach to health needed a change. My diet was a significant part of the problem. I was consuming processed foods, which were aggravating my IBS and eczema. Feeling constantly bloated and fatigued pushed me to learn more about nutrition. I became a certified nutritionist to understand how to truly nourish my body. Through this journey, I discovered a crucial connection between nutrition, fitness, and mental health. It wasn’t just about eating right or working out; it was about how these aspects worked together to support overall well-being. During this time, I also found my way back to spirituality through church. Reconnecting with my faith was transformative. Once my spiritual life was in alignment with my physical and mental health, I noticed significant improvements in all areas of my life—career, relationships, parenting, self-confidence, and overall happiness. I realized that while there is a lot of focus on physical appearance, there isn’t enough emphasis on emotional and spiritual health. Women deserve to know that true fulfillment comes from nurturing every aspect of themselves, from the physical to the spiritual. It’s not just about looking good but feeling complete and balanced. Now, I’m dedicated to helping other women navigate their own wellness journeys. I understand the challenges of balancing mental health, physical health, and personal responsibilities. My goal is to support you in finding harmony in all these areas, so you can live a confident, fulfilling life.
